Deep Dive · Meeting paper review

Understand a complex meeting paper properly

Review a meeting paper against its agenda and identify its main issues and decisions.

What this instruction produces

A comprehensive review designed to help you understand the whole paper—not simply a short summary of its opening pages.

1 Bulleted executive summary The substantive content in complete, one-idea-per-bullet sentences that are easy to scan or read aloud.
2 Key findings by area The principal developments, evidence, implications and concerns across every major theme or workstream.
3 Appendix and data review Material facts from appendices, charts and tables—including exact prices, percentages, dates, counts and targets.
4 Meeting and assurance map Why the paper is on the agenda, what the meeting is asked to do and what assurance the evidence genuinely provides.
5 Gaps and uncertainties Important missing, unclear, inconsistent or unverifiable information that could affect understanding or action.

How to use it

Use one paper at a time. Starting a new chat reduces the risk of information from another paper influencing the answer.

  1. Open a new chat.
Use Copilot Chat or another AI assistant approved by your organisation.
  2. Attach the agenda and one paper.
Check that both files have finished uploading and that the filenames are correct.
  3. Copy the instruction.
Select the large button below. The instruction stays hidden and is copied directly to your clipboard.
  4. Paste it into the same chat.
Send the instruction after both documents are available to the AI assistant.
  5. Review the output.
Check significant figures, requested actions and consequential decisions against the source documents.
Only upload information that you are permitted to use with your chosen AI assistant. Follow your organisation’s information-governance requirements.
